<![CDATA[ <article> <ul><li><strong>Philips Hue accidentally leaked a new Pro TV lightstrip on its own website</strong></li><li><strong>There are no details of its price or release date yet</strong></li><li><strong>A new Philips Hue Play Sync camera is expected to launch soon</strong></li></ul><p>I love Philips Hue lights, and I particularly love Hue lightstrips — so I'm excited by an accidental leak that indicates a new Pro lightstrip is coming to your TV.</p><p>The leak was spotted by the excellent <a href="https://hueblog.com/2026/08/03/philips-hue-is-working-on-the-play-gradient-strip-light-pro/" target="_blank">Hueblog</a>, who discovered the following text on the US Hue website: "Check out Philips Hue Play gradient strip lights and Play gradient strip light pro." There isn't currently a gradient strip with the 'pro' suffix, so this appears to be a new product that's coming very soon.</p><p>I hope so, although I worry about the "pro" bit because that usually indicates a premium price. The Gradient Strip Light models are designed to go on the back of your TV and deliver a similar experience to an Ambilight TV, extending the colours from your screen onto the walls and ceiling. </p><p>I'm a huge fan of Hue Play – I've been using it since the first-gen Play Sync box was released in 2019 – but the individual LEDs are very visible. If the Pro version were to be closer to the Omniglow, which delivers seamless gradients without the LEDs being visible individually, that would be a great upgrade. Although I suspect it's likely to be pricey too: the Omniglow has an RRP of $139.99 / £119.99 / AU$279.99 for the 3m model.</p><p>At the moment details are non-existent, but we do know that Hue is getting some more Hue Play products imminently: the Hue Play Screen Sync TV camera is expected to launch very soon as a more affordable alternative to the clever but expensive <a href="https://www.techradar.com/home/small-appliances/philips-hue-play-hdmi-sync-box-8k-review">Hue Play HDMI Sync Box 8K</a>. As with the Sync Box it'll mirror your display to your smart lights and bulbs, but you won't need to connect any devices to do it as it'll simply watch what's on the TV.</p> </article> ]]>
